This splendid view shows a panorama of Mysore Junction - engine sheds to the left, extensive sidings in the centre, and the signal box and station to the right.

A close-up view of the same picture shows better detail of the signalling. two lattice-post bracket signals govern departure of trains from the station, and it would appear the signal cabin has been erected at right angles to the platform lines to give a better view of the yard area.
No classic view like this would be complete without people and animals wandering across the line! The second world war could be a million miles away.
