  • The level crossing at Sheringham is to be relaid and the North Norfolk Railway will be permitted 12 movements per year.
  • The Lynton & Barnstaple signal box from Pilton Yard, Barnstaple forms part of a property for sale in Umberleigh.
  • The Wensleydale Railway is to install the former North Wootton box at Leeming Bar.
  • The operating floor from the former Betley Road box has been craned into place at Boughton Crossing, Northampton & Lamport Railway.

  • The Railway Heritage Committee has designated the nameboards from March 1/2 Mile and Washwood Heath boxes.

MODERN RAILWAYS

  • The re-signalling of the Sandbach to Wilmslow line commenced on 11 December 2005.
  • Make Level Crossings Safer reports on Dutch practice.
  • Settle Junction box received a National Railway Heritage Award for box refurbishment shared with the Swanage Railway for Corfe Castle.

  • The completion of the Marston Vale re-signalling project was marked by the unveiling of a plaque at Ridgmont signalling centre on 17 September.

  • The tallest surviving semaphore signal - Hexham No. 3 - has been replaced by an LED signal at driver's eye level.
  • Westinghouse has won three contracts for the initial stages of Thameslink resignalling.
  • RMT is to ballot its signalling members about industrial action over pay.
  • Colchester box is being extended as part of the Clacton / Walton / Marks Tey resignalling scheme.

  • EAST MIDLANDS RESIGNALLING: NR controllers now work from the new centre at Derby that will eventually house signallers controlling North Erewash, South Erewash, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and West Hampstead.
