The tiny Bridport Railway had just two
signal boxes, built at different times, so there is no way that anything can be
described as a "standard design" or "typical".
West Bay box opened in 1883, built in stone and located on the station platform. It was provided with a Gloucester Wagon Company lever frame.
The box closed in 1927 and was replaced by a small ground frame, but the building continued to serve as useful storage accommodation through to the closure of the line.
This picture (which I accept is of appalling quality) shows the box some
fifty years after it closed. The entire station area was being used at that
time for the storage of builders' material. It is thought to have now been
demolished.
