TorquayThe suggested date for the erection of this box by Saxby & Farmer is c1876, but this seems unlikely as it is actually of the type constructed by that company in between 1868 and 1874. The box was built with a base of local stone, and would originally have been provided with small "toplight" windows in the panelled area above the main set. |
The South Devon concern became part of the Great Western Railway in 1876.
