Signal boxes of the
LONDON, TILBURY & SOUTHEND RAILWAY

All signal boxes on this small but important railway were built by signalling contractors. The earliest were built by Stevens & Sons and Easterbrook.

	Purfleet Rifle Range From around 1888, all LT&S boxes were constructed by the Railway Signal Company to their standard design of 1881 although most featured larger locking room windows.
	Ockendon This platform-mounted box lacks the usual decorative bargeboards, suggesting repair has taken place at some stage.

The London, Tilbury & Southend was taken over by the Midland Railway in 1912.
