The London Electric Railways (also knpwn as the Underground Group)
managed a number of underground railways, most of which had no structures as

Signal boxes were built by the London Electric railway to
this design form 1905 onwards. All except one had miniature lever power frames,
but the one illustrated here was the sole mechanical installation. These boxes
were unique for their time in having a flat roof. This was mounted above an
extensive glazed area which in turn was supported by a brick base. The latter
was rendered on many examples. |
London Electric Railways became part of the London Passenger
Transport Board in 1933. |
