PMs

I've been running close to the wind with the relative amounts of post in my inbox/outbox - to that end I've exported the contents of them as .xml and saved them on the hard drive of this machine. However, it strikes me as a slightly 'involved' process to get the text from my messages to a file saved on my machine and freeing up the inbox.

I wonder if it is possible to either allow the export of files as .rtf or .txt or .doc or extend the capacity of the PMs (I've got 2354 stashed elsewhere), please?

I suppose it boils down to me being too lazy to properly archive my PMs as they come in...

I don't think there is any easy way to archive PMs, sorry.

I have upped the total amount of messages you can have on hand from 50 to 100. This is probably not going to solve the problem for you because it simply means you have a huger number to deal with when the day comes that you find you need to archive them.

I'm sorry to not be more help. Personally I find over 90% of my PMs contain little of long-term importance and sweep most away when the mailbox becomes full.

Not at all - that does help: you're right though; it might delay the inevitable dithering over archiving.

Er... from the overview screen, or each message as it comes in?

You would have to display each message individually, but it just struck me that this could be an easy way to do it as you could file each message under an individual filename that suited you.

Of course if you are going to leave until you need to save 100 at a time . . . well, don't blame me!

If you right-click a message on the overview list, you can "save target as html". Up to you which method is preferable of course.
