Just a note to say that I have twice experienced this myself recently - once on this forum and once on a different (non-forum) site. So I don't think it is an problem with the forum as such but a wider issue, possibly related to the use of PHP-coded web pages.

I also get this problem on the SimSig forum. But one cunning trick that has is [+] and [-] buttons that allow you to expand or reduce the depth of the text box in which you compose your messages. Rather a natty workaround I feel.

Mr DI,

Is there any update on this and if it can be fixed as it is quite anoying when composing and especially when editing long responses?

As I said above I suspect it is nothing to do with the forum itself and fixing "the internet" is slightly outside my scope.

We have established it is not peculiar to this forum, or indeed any forum using the software this one uses. We have established it is not peculiar to forums at all. We have established it is not peculiar to any particular browser software. We have established it is not peculiar to any particular operating system.

I am open to ideas but I think your expectations of my abilities are a little high.

Maybe it's just me then.

I get lots of silly technical problems, but I'm not getting this particular one.
I'm using XP and Firefox.

I think most people are in the same boat as you.

It seems very variable. I'm also using Express Passenger & Firebox and don't recall experiencing this issue until two occasions on the same day in April. I never have since. Yet a few have it as a persistent problem. It is a very curious but irritating problem.
