L&Y Three-Wire Three-Position instruments
The
Lancashire & Yorkshire built their own signalling instruments at their
Horwich signal works. The Up and Down block indicators were combined into the
same case, but the bells were a separate unit.
The commutator to work the block needles had a plunger in the centre to ring the bell, and a nifty signalman could work both simultaneously with on hand.
